剣道の歓迎会、勉強勉強勉強勉強、修了式、ミナパのウサギ、雪祭り。 Kendo Welcome Party, studystudystudystudystudy, School ending Ceremony, Snow Festival.

January 22nd to 29th 2011 (Japan time)

So, I don't remember what I did exactly because this was two weeks ago. Thankfully, there are time stamps on the photos I take. I cannot recall everything I did but hey, at least it'll keep the blog shorter. =) I will update according to the time stamps on the photos I took. There are a lot, mind you... A lot.

Tuesday January 25 2011

Chiffon party day. =) We made chocolate cake and that was about it. =) It was to end the year for Chiffon. The usual people did not show up so I guess they left a bit early for the year. I took one significant photo. =_ And that's about it.

Chocolate muffins.

Wednesday January 26 2011

Today, Abdy and I had our lovely Kendo Welcoming Party. We first had our Kendo rehearsal then we went to a restaurant for all you can drink. =) Mind you, I have a Kanji test and a Chapter test tomorrow which I am only half done preparing for, lol. And a presentation on friday... But anyhow, here are photos of the drinking party. Poor Kentaro, he's the youngest so he gets the most fun, lol. I also took photos of food.. =)

Let the photo taking marathon begin.
Isono and one of the older members in Kendo whom I have never met before.
The guy wearing glasses is Kentaro. =)
I have no idea what the burning urn thingy is... But yea, look at the sushi. =)
Yuuki vs Masaki. =) Yuuki is the one wearing glasses.
Agedashi Tofu...
A Japanese tradition... The youngest is fed by the oldest.. And I have a good feeling what he's eating isn't too appetizing..
Kentaro after drinking some warm sake, lol! Classic. Mind you, this guy has been mixing alcohol all night, lol.

We then went to karaoke straight after because well... Everyone wanted to party, lol. So a lot of people were seriously drunk. I took a lot of random photos and yea, a lot of people passed out too, lol.

A photo of everyone conscious. =)
Moemi is the girl and... I don't remember the guys name.
Chiaki is the girl and I don't remember the guys name... LOL
Mhm...
Abdy
Masaki, Kentaro and Yuuki conscious...
Masaki (He's not in the photo but...) Kentaro, Yuuki unconscious. =)
Me talking with Seigo. =) The thing he's holding looks like some crazy remote control for some old gaming console but it was actually the karaoke terminal thingy. =)

Anyhow, we left at around 11:30PM. I got a ride from one of the club members and yea, I took the train home. =) I slept rather well that night.. Didn't get to study much... Lol -sigh-

Thursday February 27 - Friday February 28 2011 (Japan time)

So yea, test day on Thursday. I did horrible on the Kanji test but I did surprisingly well on the Chapter test. =) I cannot complain... The problem came on Friday, lol. My presentation was sloppy... I was tired and just wasn't feeling all that great, lol. I felt mighty relieved after I finished the test though. I went and ate curry soup with Christine and Bibi... I then went home to study because that's what good students do. =) I finished my homework for the week and I crunched down half of the kanji. =) That's all.

I don't remember when I made this but yea... I made this. =)

Saturday February 28 2011 (Japan time)

Before going to the bar with Scott and John, I took a picture of this little display outside to the left of our housing institute. =) Little children have been flocking about all day making this display so yea, I took a picture!

Or two...
First photo was on the seventh floor. This photo was taken on the second.
We met up with Christine, Bibi, Lisa and Akiko. I met a random guy from the dormitory. His name is Katsunori, lol. It was just a relax day since everyone was drained that week. Didn't really do much after because it was meant to be a relaxing day. =)

January 30th to February 7th 2011 (Japan time)

Well, it was hell up till the 4th of February. Study, study, study. I felt so tired that day, lol. The test was 2hr and 30 mins. Thankfully, the prof let us have another 15 minutes after... Lol. I guess I needed it.
I guess the teachers wanted us to relax after the exam so they made us all go watch presentations from the mob of Chinese kids (+1 Caucasian from US. Melissa)  last semester. =) That lasted for a good 3 hours, lol. Of course.. I passed out along the way and yea, I was exhausted by the time it was all over. I guess it is safe to assume that most of them are back in China... That or they're traveling to fun places. =) Anyhow, back on track.

After the long presentation, we all went to the ending ceremony. It was a sad day... I'll will not be seeing my professors for awhile... But yes! I took a lot of photos. =) The students who are leaving Sapporo had to make a speech, lol. It would have been nice if we were informed beforehand but hey... I guess it's fine. =) There was free food after all! The party ended at around 7:30PM. I took a picture with Ooga sensei but Yoshida sensei ran away, lol. I'll need to hunt her down another time, I guess. But for the time being, I have a good feeling I will not be seeing her for awhile. Anyhow, here are the pictures.

Saturday February 5th 2011 (Japan time)

So yea, today was eventful. =) I met up with Bucchi and we went to Odori to carve out our own snow sculpture! =) We got there at 10:15-ish and yea, I made the M for Minapa, lol. I took pictures all throughout the day and people trickled in and out throughout the whole day~ It was quite exciting and cold... I wore the shoes with a hole, lol. So yea, water was soaking into my feet and I was in pain. Here are pictures. =)

The beginning...

We finished sculpting at around 8PM at night. We all took one last photo together then decided to go for all you can eat... Pasta? Lol. La Pausa is the restaurant. =) For once... I took photos of food before eating, lol. We stayed there until around 10:30 then we all went home. =) We talked about random things and everyone was enjoying everyone's company. It was a nice way to end the day~ Ooh and of course, my feet were warm and wet. =) Joy. Here are some photos.

Christine looks like she's sick... but yea, Dinara is in here. =) Mariya and Sa-chan are in here as well.

The middle group.
Pizza one
Pizza two + the Asian Star

Nothing important happened on Sunday. =) It was relaxing day.

Monday February 7th 2011 (Japan time)

Kendo started at 10:30AM today. =) Not many people showed up so yea, Abdy and I had one big private session with the 3 people that actually showed up. =) We learned how to stomp our feet... LOL And it hurts. But yea, at the end of the session, I met up with the guy who sells Kendo gear. =) There I bought my Hakama and Dougi, lol! All for 10,000yen... A wee bit expensive but hey... It seems like I have a liking for Kendo. More so than Kung Fu when I was a child, LOL. I shall expect my gear next monday. EXCITING! =)

Second highlight for today: I went to the 雪祭り (Snow festival) today and it was mighty damn cold, lol. The sculptures were unbelievable... I was very impressed. I took tons of photos and I think I enjoyed the Owl/Wolf display the most... Everything about it was perfect! Anyhow, here are the pictures!

I visited Dinara and Neurissa today at the Russian stand. =) I had this.. Chicken potato dish and I damn good, lol. I also had a shot of vodka, chocolate, cookies and a marshmallow treat. =) Anyhow, I went home straight afterward because I was freezing. I watched Supernatural a bit then went to bed. =) I get to meet my professor tomorrow, lol.

  1. Apparently, the snow festival in Sapporo is quite big and famous, HK news were reporting it on TV and they showed a few sculptures, same as the ones you posted on your blog. I was so excited coz I saw your bunny sculpture too!! (though it was only for a second =p)
