Sunday December 12 (Japan Time)
Did not take any pictures lately and I still need to upload the pictures I took last week, lol. I am behind on picture taking. But anyhow, I will do a short update because I am currently using my host families computer, lol. So yea... I met up with Justin today, lol. For the first time in a long time... I met him at around 1:30 PM at Sapporo station, along with his fellow JET buddy who lives near Kushiro. We hung out for a wee bit and time surely passes by quickly when you're engaged in a conversation. It was nice to see a little bit of "Calgary." Anyhow, Justin's friend left at around 3:30 and Justin left at 4. I went back home and made dinner... Then went and studied. Oh but before that, I cleaned up my room and damn, I must say I did a rather fine job, lol. Compared to what it looked like before... I am rather impressed. (Sorry, cutting out parts because I have limited time, lol)
Monday December 13 (Japan Time)
Today I started my homestay. I was a bit nervous because... well... I am going to invade someone elses home. LOL I don't know, I find that a bit nerve racking. But anyhow, everyone was really nice! Of course, I cannot speak fluently so I get cutt out sometimes but I can see that the other is really trying to make me feel at home. The children in the house are hovering around the same age as I am. I guess it would have been easier to bond if they were children because children are much easier to talk to. (No, I am not a pedophile) But yes! There are a total of three children in the house. Oldest is the son, followed by two daughters. The son was in University but decided to stop for some reason. (He was studying Chinese.) The second oldest daughter is currently in High School and will graduate after the year is over. The youngest of the three us currently in grade 10? I think, lol. But yes, other than that, everyone is rather nice. I almost did not have time to study for my test but I manage to sqeeze in some good quality study time. (4hrs, yes!) I am currently sleeping in a tatami room. (I will take a picture of it before I leave.) It really has quite an authenic smell to it. Very... tradition, lol. Sidenote: I also got my test mark back and yay, I am glad I did well. Totally felt satisfied with my test result. The teacher said I was did well so yes, I will openly accept that compliment.
Tuesday December 14 (Japan Time)
Nothing special today. I went to class, etc, etc. I stayed in the library and studied a wee bit before returning home. I finished my homework but did not start memorizing my kanji yet. I went home at around 5PM, where we then left the house via car to eat sushi!!! Yes, yes. =) Sushi boat? rotating sushi? Anyhow, in Japanese, it's, 回転寿司. It's sushi that travels around the restaurant via a conveyer belt. You just grab the dish that you want, etc and eat. We went home after a good hour or so of eating. We all then sat around the table and talked about Calgary and rocks! LOL Yes yes... Rocks.. =) I wish I could spread my love for rocks in Japanese but it's too difficult. It's like... I want to share my opinion so, so bad but I cannot put it in words.. Quite literally! Lol (In Japanese words, of course) Get it? Yea? LOL.. Okay, bad joke. Anyhow. I really do want to get to know everyone better. Hopefully things will go according to plan. But for now, there still needs to be a bit of ice picking to do.
