Sunday December 5th (Japan time) - Thursday December 9th (Japan time)
I studied everyday until Thursday because that was when I had my chapter test. Kanji and Chapter test. I did not do anything special on Monday, Tuesday nor Wednesday. I stayed up till 5AM on Wednesday to prep for the test...
Thursday after the test, I went home with Dinara because were were exhausted. We went to the supermarket to buy some random goodies and that was when she invited me to attend 忘年会. 忘年会 is a year-end ceremony held every December to.. end the year, lol. Dinara's well acquainted with this homestay coordinator. The same coordinator invited her to year end party. Dinara asked if I wanted to go because she did not want to go, lol. She figured there were only old people. I said yes. We flew back to the institute where I quickly shaved and reconfigured myself. I literally looked like an old man before shaving. -sigh- But anyhow, I ran out of the door and yea, met up with the coordinator. He was a 60-ish year-old man, lol. But anyhow, just as we thought, the party was filled with old/mature people. Dinara and I entered and there we made our short introductions. We ate random food and were approached by random people. On top of their business cards, I also got an interesting pamphlet from some old guy, lol. The illustration was somewhat misconstrued but yea, after I went home and researched it... it was actually a urinary bag thing? yea, gross, I know. Moving on.
I met someone who worked at a boys juvenile camp? I also met someone who does infrastructure... And most interesting of them all... a mushroom hunter. =) He was fairly talkative. He told us about his job and what to avoid for when you go mushroom hunting, lol. It was rather interesting. He even bought a binder full of diagrams and pictures to show us, lol. Though... we did not understand any of it. Anyhow, I had Ramen Salad today o_o; Ramen + veggies + salad dressing. Omg, it was the best salad ever! LOL I need to know what type of dressing they use and I will make it when I get back home. Yea, no pictures because I did not bring my camera.
We ended the night with a few short speeches... Followed by another self introduction by the exchange students. There was also a short question/answer period where yea, random people asked random questions, lol. Dinara and I got home at around 11PM. I brushed then went straight to bed. Sidenote: Dinara gave me some pastries she got from the coordinator. Both of them were chocolate because she does not eat chocolate, lol.
Friday December 10th (Japan time)
The usual. I had class and then class ended. I met up with Christine to chat a wee bit. I actually invited her the day before to hang out on Friday with a friend I met. (Kota. AKA Thomas) So yea, the plan was this - We meet up in Oodori Park. 大道り. Kota gets off work at 9PM. Anyhow, I went home a bit early from school because I had to do some house cleaning. The institute is checking the fire alarms on the 14th so yea, I figured it's best I clean up my room before I leave for my homestay on Monday, lol. I cleaned the entire room but the washroom. I shall do that tomorrow. But yes, we bumped into another German friend of his which was rather nice. We left the Christmas market at around 9:30. His friend left to go home for some reason, lol.
But yes, the plan for today was to go out and have fun... And I guess that was exactly what we did. We went to an izakaya 居酒屋. Along the way, we bumped into 6 other people. 2 were from Vancouver, 1 was from Germany and 3 were Japanese. We went up to the Izakaya and there we were greeted by someone who passed out on the bench and another puking into a bag, lol.... The German guy said it was a "warning," lol. "If you enter, you will turn into those two." Was exactly what he said, lol. We waited 10 minutes then went into a private room. There we sat there and then the drinks came... They ordered beer (oh crap). So yea, I figured the best way to drink beer is to not let it foam in your mouth.. Just let it slide down your throat and it'll somewhat taste good, lol. For once, I somewhat did enjoy beer.. But yea, I didn't even finish the entire bottle and my face was bright red... Everyone else was on their second and third, lol!!! We moved out into the open after a good 1hr. A few Russian kids joined us, lol. They kept to themselves though, lol. But yea, in the end.. I ended up drinking a bottle of beer (300ml) a tall glass of Whiskey Tonic? Don't remember what it was called... and a sip of hard whiskey.. Lol Oh goodness... I was finished for the night.. I was thoroughly drunk. At 11PM... I was struggling to talk, lol. My head was hurting, my face was red and yea, I looked sick. I left at around 11:59PM because the last train comes at around 12:10AM. I ran through the streets and finally arrived at the right station and yea, this is the part that you should read if you're skimming through this essay, lol...
I went down to the subway and leaned against the pillar, lol. I felt sick and slightly nauseated. I stepped into the train and yea, I noticed that my face was pale. My station was the next one. I stood in front of two random people who were sitting down and I was firmly grasping the dangling handle, lol. My nausea hit me really hard... I really wanted to throw up so, so bad but I couldn't because I was on the train. But I guess keeping it in was definitely a mistake because when I got to my station, I the nausea subsided and I could feel the alcohol soak into my system. All of it. (cold sweat ftw) My lips were light pink and my face was pretty much white and cold. I guess I should have ordered food at the Izakaya but I completely forgot. That was me being dumb. My vision pretty much turned black and white/sepia-ish. It started getting fuzzy like the TV screen static by the time I took the first escalator up to the gates. My ears started to ring and I couldn't hear much other than the intercom because it was the loudest. There was a point where I almost could not see anything. (yea I was freaking out at this point) I dropped my wallet trying to get my card out but thankfully, I got through the gates without making a complete fool of myself. I stepped foot on the second flight of escalator and the cold air blowing into the subway felt really refreshing. When I got to the very top, my vision started to clear and I could hear things. I was wobbling from side to side and it took longer than usual to get to the door but yea, I finally got into my room. I took off my clothes then plopped on my bed half naked but refused to sleep because I was actually quite worried I would not wake up the following morning. I immediately inhaled two slices of toast and a banana, then texted Christine and yea, after a good 30 minutes... Color started to flush back into my face. My lips were dark pink/red but my face was still quite pale. I put on my PJ's washed my hair and brushed.. then tried to sleep. I tossed and turned for a good 2hrs before I could finally sleep. I woke up at 10AM today.
So yea, never again will I do anything that stupid, lol. But to be light about it, I guess my tolerance will most likely boost slightly after this. I now at least know when to stop. I don't think I want to burn any more brain cells. It was not a pleasant experience but an interesting one, nonetheless. I swear, if anyone wanted to take advantage of me (Not that anyone would because I'd be too heavy anyways)... The subway was prime time. I don't think I would have cared. Anyhow, hope you enjoyed reading my interesting experience.
Saturday December 11th (Japan time)
Today, I woke up feeling refreshed. I don't usually get hangovers because I experience them shortly after I finish whatever I am drinking. I cooked up breakfast then talked to my sister and mom. I went back upstairs to my room for a wee bit because the staff people were cleaning the Study Room. I ate a slice of chocolate cake that Dinara gave me on Thursday. It was damn good, lol. The cake slice was rather distinct so I took a picture of it. I will upload it later, lol. But anyhow, I went back to the study hall at around 1PM, studied until 6PM then went back upstairs to cook a nice dinner for meself. I ate then returned to the study hall where I then studied until 12AM. I also made some flash cards using Anki, a special flashcard program my friend recommended to me. =) (Amy) harhar, and now I shall go to sleep. It's 1AM. =) I am all caught up again! LOL. I shall try my best to post in two days, now that everything is settling down.

ReplyDeleteLOL wow reading your experience as a drunk was like reading the storyline to a horror flick! I felt like something crazy epic was going to happen! Haha but like Amy said, I'm glad you made it home safely! And I'm glad no one took advantage of you...hahaha
